Live streaming in AthletesGoLive allows teams to broadcast games in real time to fans, families, recruiters, and opponents. Streams are delivered directly through the AGL platform and can include live video, scoring data, and game information in a single viewing experience.
Live streams can be shared publicly or restricted based on team settings and audience preferences.
Who Can Start a Live Stream
Only users with appropriate team permissions can start a live stream. This typically includes:
Team admins
Coaches or staff members with assigned streaming access
Fans and athletes cannot start a live stream unless explicitly granted team credentials.
What’s Required Before You Can Stream
Before a stream can begin:
The game must be scheduled in AGL
The user must be logged in with team credentials
A supported camera must be available and connected
Internet connectivity must be sufficient for live video
Streaming cannot begin without an active game and a connected video source.
How Streaming Connects to Cameras
AGL supports multiple camera options, all of which connect to the platform through the AGL app:
AGL Camera (Recommended)
Designed specifically for sports streaming, offering full-day battery life, weather resistance, and dual-carrier connectivity.iOS or Android Mobile Devices
Phones or tablets can be used as the streaming camera for short games or temporary setups.Mevo Cameras
AGL supports Mevo Start and Mevo Core cameras, which integrate as live video sources during streaming.
Mevo Cameras and AGL
Mevo cameras connect to AGL as a live video source and stream directly into the platform during the game.
Important considerations when using Mevo with AGL:
A minimum 2.5 Mbps upload speed is required
Mevo streams must be live; offline uploads are not supported
If a streaming issue occurs and is not resolved before the game ends, video recovery may not be possible
Because of this, teams using Mevo should actively monitor their stream throughout the game.
How Streaming Connects to Scoring
Live streaming and scoring are closely connected in AGL:
Games may be streamed and scored at the same time
Viewers can see live stats, play-by-play, or box scores alongside the video
Accurate scoring enhances the live and post-game viewing experience
Streaming does not require scoring, but scoring enables full stat tracking and event eligibility.
