This guide is for team admins, coaches, or staff responsible for managing an active live stream in AthletesGoLive (AGL). It explains how to pause or stop a stream, how to monitor stream status while live, and how to properly end a stream to ensure the broadcast closes correctly.
In this Article:
Monitoring Stream Status
While a stream is active, AGL provides visual indicators to help confirm its status.
Stream Status Indicators
Green indicator: The stream is live and actively broadcasting
Red indicator: The game is not currently live or the stream has ended
Additional signs your stream is live include:
Viewer count appearing on the screen
1.2 or greater MBPS
Live video preview displaying without interruption
Monitoring these indicators throughout the game helps ensure viewers continue to receive the broadcast.
Pausing or Stopping a Stream
In certain situations, you may need to pause or temporarily stop a stream.
Pausing or stopping the stream will interrupt the live broadcast for viewers
If a game is paused or the stream stops, the team can send a message that appears as an overlay on the live stream to inform viewers of the reason.
To begin streaming again, just select the red "Start Broadcast" button.
Ending a Stream Properly
Ending a stream properly ensures the broadcast closes cleanly and viewers are no longer marked as watching a live game.
To end a stream:
Use the End Stream option within the AGL app
Confirm the prompt to stop streaming
Once ended:
The green live indicator will no longer appear
The game will display a red indicator to viewers
Fans with subscriptions will be able to view the archived game.
Ending the stream through the app is the recommended and safest way to conclude a broadcast.
Tips and Best Practices
Avoid force-closing the app while streaming
Always confirm the green live indicator before and after breaks
End the stream only after the game has fully concluded
