This guide is for team admins, coaches, or staff responsible for starting and managing live streams in AthletesGoLive (AGL). It explains how and where to start a live stream, what credentials are required, how to confirm the stream is live, and what indicators users will see once streaming begins.
In This Article:
Where and How to Start a Live Stream
Live streams are started directly from the AGL mobile app. Only users logged in with team credentials can start a stream. Fans and athletes cannot initiate a stream unless they have been granted team access.
To start a stream, the user selects the scheduled game and chooses the option to begin streaming. Once initiated, AGL connects the selected camera to the platform and prepares the broadcast.
Going Live Successfully
A stream is considered live only after the user completes the start process, selects Start Video, and confirms that the MBPS meter is above 1.2. At that point:
Video begins broadcasting to viewers
Audience and sharing settings are applied
Viewer counts may appear on screen
If the stream setup is exited before starting the video, the game will not be live.
How to Check If Your Stream Is Live
Once streaming has started, AGL provides visual indicators to confirm stream status.
Stream Status Icons
Red icon: The game is NOT live.
Green icon: The stream is live and actively broadcasting
You can confirm your stream is live by:
Seeing the green live indicator
Viewing the stream from another device or fan account
Seeing viewer counts update during the game
What Users See When a Stream Starts
When a stream goes live:
Fans and viewers will see the game marked as Live
Viewers can tap into the stream and begin watching immediately
If the game shows a green indicator, the stream has not started or has ended.
Tips for a Successful Start
Log in with team credentials before game time
Start the stream early to confirm video and audio
Verify the live (green) indicator before first pitch
Confirm the MBPS meter is 1.2 or higher
